This Introductory Course on Genetic Testing Is Designed Specifically for Ophthalmologists, Providing a Foundational Understanding of the Role Genetics Plays in Diagnosing and Managing Inherited Eye Diseases. the Course Covers Key Concepts, Including the Genetic Basis of Ocular Conditions, Testing Methodologies, the Interpretation of Genetic Results, and Their Clinical Implications. Emphasis Is Placed on Integrating Genetic Testing Into Routine Ophthalmic Practice, Improving Diagnostic Accuracy, and Guiding Personalized Treatment Plans. the Course Instructors Are Experienced Clinicians with a Special Interest in Genetics, Who Have Incorporated Genetic Testing as a Part of Their Routine Workup in Selected Patients. by the End of the Course, Participants Will Be Better Equipped to Identify Candidates for Testing, Understand Test Outcomes, and Collaborate Effectively with Genetic Counsellors and Specialists.

The Chief Instructor is faculty at a premier Teaching Institution. She has 186 publications in indexed Journals and 46 chapters in various Glaucoma textbooks. She has been a pioneer in ab interno glaucoma surgeries, Imaging for glaucoma, and is passionate about embracing new surgical and diagnostic modalities. She has incorporated genetic testing as a routine part of the clinic's work-up and has published on various genetic disorders. She is amply aided by a robust genetics department at her Institute, which has furthered her understanding of complex issues associated with genetic testing.
