Summary
With the Exponential Rise in Screen Time Due to Work, Education & Entertainment, Digital Screen Time(dst) with Consequent Digital Eye strain Has Emerged as a Modern Day Issue Affecting Millions Globally. Global Smartphone Use Has Increased from 21.6% in 2014 to 69% in 2023. Average Daily Screen Time Globally Is 6-7 Hrs. Children's Digital Devices Overuse Is Leading to Adverse Effects on Their Eyes, 26% Increase in Myopia and Vergence Abnormalities as Well as Physical, Social and Emotional Growth. Thus Dst Poses a Public Health Challenge Necessitating a Collective Approach from Health Professionals, Technology Designers and Employers to Alleviate Its Detrimental Issues and Promoting Both Preventive and Therapeutic Strategies to Safeguard Visual Well-being in the Digital Age. This Ic Has Experienced Ophthalmologists Who Will Cover Different Facets of Dst and Digital Eye Strain, Thus Facilitating an Effective Response to This Under Diagnosed Emerging Pandemic.

CI is a graduate and postgraduate of AFMC, Pune with 34 years of Army ophthalmologist service. He was selected to represent India in United Nations hospital as well. He is a recognized PG teacher and examiner and has more than 50 publications in indexed journals. He has received many awards and appreciations from Chief of Army staff, United Nations officials, and Member of Parliament Jhansi- Lalitpur. He has been conferred Narsing A Rao award by AIOS as well. He has been conducting ICs at various national level conferences for more than a decade.
