Summary
This Course Will Provide Practical Guides on How to Idenfify Glaucoma Masqueraders on Optical Coherence Tomography(oct)and Automated Perimetry(ap).the Discussion Will Focus on Findings That Mimic Glaucoma,from Common Artifacts to Retinal and Neuro-ophthalmological Conditions That Affect the Optic Nerve Cupping, Thinning of Retinal Nerve Fiber Layers and Corresponding Visual Field Changes. Attendees Will Be Able to Recognise (1)pathognomonic Findings of Real Disease (2)understand the Pathophysiology of the Optic Nerve Cupping from Glaucoma,retinal and Neurological Conditions,(3)spot Common Oct and Visual Field Artifacts That Mimic Glaucoma,(4)detect Common Neurological Conditions Causing Optic Nerve Cupping with Oct and Visual Field Findings That Mimic Glaucoma and (5) Differentiate Between Glaucoma and Common Retinal Conditions That Cause Glaucomatous-like Oct and Visual Field Abnormalities.
Resume
The Chief Instructor heads the Glaucoma service at a reputed tertiary eye hospital. Is the recipient of state and national awards for research in Glaucoma. Has given talks, chaired Glaucoma sessions and conducted Instruction Courses as Chief Instructor at National and International forums. Is credited with publications in Journals worldwide. Has conducted several phase III Multinational Clinical trials for anti Glaucoma drugs and new diagnostic and surgical devices as the Principal Investigator and therefore has vast experience in diagnostic and management of glaucoma.
