Stencils – Templates for Custom Graft Shaping
Abstract Body:
Shaped corneal grafts are required in specific clinical conditions such as peripheral ulcerative keratitis, Terrien’s marginal degeneration, and limbal dermoids, where selective tissue replacement is essential. A precisely shaped graft helps preserve healthy host tissue and can provide sustained visual improvement. Various methods have been described for obtaining shaped grafts, including the “copy-and-paste” technique. We propose a stencil-based technique for preparing shaped grafts, which offers optimal accuracy in size and contour. This method is simple, easily reproducible, and allows consistent creation of customized grafts.
