Summary
Tubes Are Invaluable in the Management of Glaucoma That Are Refractory to Treatment but Can Have Serious Sight Threatening Complications. Valved and Non-valved Devices Are Available, but Confusion Exists Wrt Type to Be Used in Different Conditions. After Description of the Basic Methods of Implantation, Modifications in Implantation Techniques Needed for Sulcus Placement, Pars Plana Tube Insertion and a Repeat Tube Will Be Covered. Early and Late Post-op Hypotony, Hypertensive Phase and Tube and Plate Related Complications Will Be Reviewed and Management Strategies with Special Emphasis on Prevention Will Be Discussed. at the End of the Course, the Attendee Will Be Able to Understand the Surgical Technique and Role of Aqueous Drainage Implants in the Management of Refractory Glaucoma, Recognizing Intra-op and Post-op Problems Encountered with the Procedure and Managing Troubleshoots.

The Chief instructor is experienced in the field of glaucoma, cataract and refractive surgery since 15yrs, at a reputed tertiary eye hospital. Is the recipient of national & International awards for research in Glaucoma. Has given talks, chaired Glaucoma sessions & conducted Instruction Courses as Chief Instructor at National and International forums. She has over 100 peer reviewed research papers in Ophthalmology. She has authored/ edited 2 text books & has over 50 chapters in various national & international books. She has 3 funded Projects & several non-funded projects on glaucoma as the PI
