Summary
Despite Major Advancements in Anti-vegf Therapy, a Significant Proportion of Patients with Macular Edema Remain Refractory or Have Sub Optimal Response. This Session Discusses the Burden of Refractory Macular Edema, Reviews the Limitations of Current Intravitreal Therapies, and Highlights the Inflammatory Component of Macular Edema That Is Not Adequately Addressed by Vegf Inhibition Alone. We Will Discuss the Rationale Behind Corticosteroid Use, the Need for Compartmentalized Drug Delivery, and How Suprachoroidal Delivery Offers a Promising Solution. attendees Will Also Learn the Step-by-step Protocol, Including Device Preparation, Proper Positioning, Scleral Engagement, Injection Angle, and Post-injection Monitoring. Key Technical Challenges and Troubleshooting Tips Will Be Addressed. Safety Considerations and Recognising Early Signs of Complications Will Be Emphasised.
