Tumors of the Ocular Surface Decoded
Summary
Ocular Surface Tumors Have a Diverse Spectrum. These Are Often Misdiagnosed as Simulating Conditions, Resulting in Inappropriate Management. This Course Will Provide a Systematic Overview of Clinical Manifestations of Conjunctival Tumors and Discuss Recent Concepts in Diagnosis, Management, and Prognosis. Clinical Evaluation of a Patient with a Conjunctival Tumor and Typical and Atypical Manifestations Will Be Demonstrated with Cases. Anterior Segment Imaging Techniques Such as Oct, Octa, and Ubm Will Be Highlighted. Evidence-based Treatment Protocols Will Be Elaborated. Indications for and Outcome of Newer Treatment Modalities, Such as Topical Immunotherapy, Chemotherapy and Plaque Brachytherapy, Will Be Discussed. Standard Surgical Procedures Will Be Demonstrated with Vivid Videos. This Course Is Designed to Enable Participants to Accurately Diagnose, Triage and Appropriately Manage Common Conjunctival Tumors and Optimize the Outcome.
Resume
One of the first in India to be formally trained in Ocular Oncology, the author established a comprehensive Ocular Oncology Service at a tertiary care eye institute. The author has been instrumental in establishing well-structured fellowship training modules in Ocular Oncology and in setting up India-centric treatment protocols to specifically address complex clinical situations inherent to the region. Tumors of the Ocular Surface is one of the prime focus areas of the author.
