Summary
Surface Ablation Techniques (Prk, Transprk, Epi-lasik) and Phakic Iols (Evo Icl, Ipcl) Are Often Seen as Alternatives to Lasik or Smile—but They Are Much More Than Backups. This Course Presents Them as Essential and Complementary Options in the Modern Refractive Surgeon's Toolbox, Without Looking for Any Further Investment in Lenticule Based Surgery or Femto/ Keratome Based Laser Vision Correction. in Fact These Two Are Better for Patients with Thin Corneas, High Myopia and Borderline Topographies. We Will Discuss Patient Selection, Refraction Refinement, Pre Op Work Up, Surgical Pearls, Decision-making Algorithms, Complication Management, and Long-term Outcomes. Experienced ophthalmic surgeon, MS in ophthalmology, with over three decades in cataract and refractive surgery, including phacoemulsification, femtosecond-assisted cataract and LASIK and surface ablation techniques. Actively involved in postgraduate and fellowship training, with a strong focus on academic teaching and surgical mentorship. Has presented and demonstrated live surgeries at major national forums and continues to contribute to clinical education and community eye care.
