Intraocular Surgeries Like Cataract Extraction, Vitreoretinal Procedures, Corneal Surgeries and Refractive Procedures Are Routine in Modern Ophthalmology Practice; yet They Carry a Significant Risk of Inducing Secondary Glaucoma. the Incidence Ranges from 0.7% to 35% and Constitutes a Major Portion of Glaucoma Cases Seen in the Clinic.this Instruction Course Aims to Highlight the Risk Factors, Mechanisms, and Clinical Presentation of Glaucoma Following Common Intraocular Surgeries. Four Case-based Talks Will Cover Pseudophakic Glaucoma, Challenges After Icl Implantation, Secondary Glaucoma After Corneal Procedures (Keratoplasty/kpro) and Post-vitrectomy Iop Rise. Emphasis Will Be Placed on Early Diagnosis, Imaging, Preventive Strategies and Surgical Management. a Keynote Address Will Discuss Iop Spikes Due to Steroid Response and Increased Inflammation Which May Occur Following Any Intraocular Intervention and Consolidate Pearls for Prevention and Management of Iatrogenic Glaucoma.
Resume
Working as a Glaucoma consultant ,very keen on salvaging the glaucomatous eyes . I have presented papers in state & national conferences. Won Best paper in Glaucoma section in KOSCON 2017 & Best E-poster in GSI 2018. My areas of interest includes newer screening methods of glaucoma & newer drug delievery systems. I believe in creating awareness among people that " Glaucoma is irreversible disease & early detection can preserve the vision"; is itself a big step towards decreasing the prevalence of glaucoma. I also believe in addressing the mechanism of rise in IOP in post operative period.
