NAVIGATING CHALLENGES IN CATARACT SURGERY
Abstract Body:
This presentation focuses on real world challenging scenarios in cataract surgery and practical ways to manage them. It covers small pupils, weak zonules, dense nuclei, shallow anterior chambers, posterior capsular rupture, dropped nucleus, pseudoexfoliation, white cataracts, hard brown cataracts, and associated corneal or retinal comorbidities. The talk highlights step by step decision making, surgical modifications, choice of instruments, fluidics control, use of capsular tension devices, pupil expansion techniques, and safe nucleus management strategies. Emphasis is placed on complication prevention, early recognition of problems, and effective intraoperative rescue techniques to improve surgical safety and visual outcomes.
