Crossing the Precipice: Managing bag instability with surgical precision
Abstract Body:
we present a comprehensive case study of a patient with a traumatic anterior subluxated cataract accompanied by secondary glaucoma. This complex ocular condition poses significant challenges in surgical management, particularly due to the instability of the lens and the heightened intraocular pressure associated with glaucoma.We detail our surgical approach utilizing phacoemulsification cataract surgery, enhanced by the strategic use of capsular hooks and a Capsular Tension Ring (CTR). The capsular hooks facilitate optimal positioning of the capsular bag, ensuring stability during the phacoemulsification process. The incorporation of the CTR further supports the capsular structure, reducing the risk of complications such as capsular rupture and enhancing postoperative outcomes.Through this video, we aim to share our surgical techniques, highlight key intraoperative considerations. Our findings underscore the importance of tailored surgical strategies in complex cataract cases.
