Title:
Reviving lost eyes in Endophthalmitis by multidisciplinary approach & new vitreous biopsy technique.
Abstract Body:
Patient diagnosed as Post Cataract surgery Endophthalmitis progressed to Corneal melt and history of dry tap on vitreous biopsy was diagnosed being fungal in origin using a new vitreous biopsy technique. Patient managed with Cornea transplant, intravitreal antifungals and silicon oil tamponade along with systemic antifungals and gained a BCVA of 6/12. A coordinated multidisciplinary approach of Cornea surgeon, Pathologist, and Vitreoretina surgeon as a team helped to save the eye as well as vision.
