Title:
HOLDING THE GLOBE TOGETHER
Abstract Body:
Traumatic graft dehiscence is a serious complication following penetrating keratoplasty (PK) due to persistent weakness at the graft–host junction. We report a case presenting one year post-PK with sudden vision loss after blunt trauma. Examination revealed wound dehiscence with anterior chamber collapse. Urgent surgical repair was performed with wound exploration, anterior chamber reformation, and resuturing using 10-0 nylon. Associated findings like iris prolapse were managed appropriately. Postoperative treatment included topical steroids and antibiotics. The graft remained clear with good apposition and satisfactory visual recovery. This case highlights the lifelong risk of wound dehiscence after PK and the importance of prompt management and patient education on ocular protection.
