Course Title: Corneal rescue: simple techniques to save vision
Summary
Corneal diseases are frequently seen by the general ophthalmologists. Not all cases need to be referred to the specialist and many conditions can be managed once the pratitioner has an understanding of basic corneal conditions. In this video-based course, we will provide step-by-step instructions on the basic surgical procedures in Cornea. The course starts with the technique of proper corneal scraping and using simple new methods such as trypan blue staining, thus not having to depend on microbiology set up. It will throw light on how to manage corneal thinning and corneal perforations in infective and non-infective cases. The technique of corneal glue application, amniotic membrane surgery, tenons patch graft, corneal patch graft with indications and follow-up of such cases will be discussed in detail.
