Title
Keeping abreast with the Medico-Legal Aspects - What’s New for the Ophthalmologists?
Summary
Recent amendments in the CPA, Newer Judgements by Various Courts, Advances in Tele-ophthalmology, Insurance Sector reforms have all led to some very drastic changes in the Medico-Legal Scenario, particularly for an Ophthalmologist. Ophthalmologists doing private practice or working in Institutions; must be aware of various MedicoLegal updates. There is high level of awareness on part of the patients and a very low threshold for tolerance, leading to increase in filing of lawsuits against Ophthalmologists. The need of the hour is good knowledge about legal aspects that we may have to deal with and not get perplexed while facing a potential MedicoLegal Situation. In this IC, the recent updates in CPA, Medical Record Keeping, Landmark court Judgements, MedicoLegal aspects of Tele-Ophthalmology & Indemnity Insurance and all the concerned Legal matter will be included. This IC will try to make the ophthalmologists prepared to deal in a proper way while facing Medico Legal situations.
