Summary
Post graduate education training has seen a paradigm shift in the last couple of years. An unsurpassed dependance on e-learning and less exposure to clinical care is being observed. The hands on experience gained through surgical training is also non -uniform across the country. There is a pursuit among the postgraduate trainees for sub speciality fellowships and further trainings. A post residency competitive working environment and professional exploitation often leads to frustration, work stress, dissatisfaction, burn out and deviation from ethical practices. This course will discuss these challenges revolving around postgraduate training, their consequences and some remedial measures.

The chief instructor is a Professor at a Regional Institute of Ophthalmology. She has a special interest in medical education and is a passionate medical teacher. She has to her credit numerous paper, poster and video presentations & lectures in CMEs and conferences of different levels and numerous publications in national & international journals. She has done a fellowship in medical education and is a regular instructor in AIOC conferences.
