Title
All about Capsulotomy: Avoiding and managing complications of capsulotomy in Phaco and SICS
Summary
Anterior capsulotomy is one of the most important steps of both phacoemulsification and manual SICS, which will influence the successful completion of all the other steps that follow and the post operative stability of especially premium IOLs. This video based course will cover the basics of all types of capsulotomies including can-opener, capsulorhexis, zepto and femto capsulotomies. The techniques of successfully completing capsulotomy in different types of cataracts including soft, brown, subluxations, mature, intumescent & hypermature cataracts with capsule fibrosis & paediatric cataracts will be demonstrated including the use of cystomomes, forceps, microforceps & capslue staining dyes. How to use the capsulorhexis for support of PC IOLs and optic capture will be shown along with how to deal with complications like small capsulorhexis, rhexis tear and extension of tear into posterior capsule. Special situations with zepto and femto laser capsulotomy will also be detailed.
