Title
Don’t be Stumped by Periocular Lumps & Bumps
Summary
Numerous lumps and bumps can occur on the eyelid and periocular region. In most cases these are benign, occasionally they may herald something more sinister such as dysplastic or neoplastic transformation. Correct and timely diagnosis by an ophthalmologist depends on proper history and clinical examination. All such lesions, except those that are easily diagnosed & appear innocuous, should be biopsied and sent for histopathology. The primary point of contact in most cases is a general ophthalmologist. In such cases early identification of red flag signs become crucial. Here a team of experienced oculoplastic surgeons will discuss various common and not so common periocular lumps and bumps with the help of clinical photos, videos& case scenarios.Attendees henceforth will be able to correctly clinch the diagnosis and plan appropriate management protocols for such eyelid lesions.
